About
Dr. Clark Hyde lives and practices in the Southeastern corner of our province, in Medicine Hat. In 2021 Dr. Hyde was elected to serve as a council member of the Alberta College of Optometrists. He currently serves as the ACO council’s governance chair. Dr. Hyde is also the past president of the Medicine Hat Optometric Society. Dr. Hyde graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2011. One of his passions is that of optometric education. Dr. Hyde has performed well over 100 school classroom presentations about light, optics, anatomy, and ocular health to local high schools, junior high schools, and elementary schools. His lectures are known for being educational, fun, and interactive. He has also lectured to his optometric peers at provincial continuing education courses for the Alberta Association of Optometrists. Dr. Hyde’s insights have also gone beyond the clinic and the classroom. Dr. Hyde is a published author in the internationally recognized scientific journal Optometry and Vision Science. In 2018 he and his business partners opened Alberta’s first urgent eye care clinic; they also opened a pediatric optometry clinic in the same building.
