Occupational Heath & Safety

All optometrists and their staff are governed by the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation and Code. The Alberta College of Optometrists (ACO) has prepared “An Optometrist’s Guide to Occupational Health and Safety” to assist you in defining your responsibilities as an employer and a worker. We strongly encourage all optometrists to become familiar with these requirements and perform a Hazard Identification and Assessment on a regular basis.
